NYSAWWA Accepting Applications for Executive Director Position


 

Position: Executive Director

 

Organization: New York Section American Water Works Association (NYSAWWA)

 

Education: Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred, in a related area (business, non-profit management, water industry)

 

Location: Section office is presently located in Syracuse.  Possibility exists to relocate the office to the Albany area.

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience

 

Deadline: Position will be filled when the right candidate is found; there will be several rounds of interviews 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration and management of the New York Section AWWA (2200+ members), including service programs, fundraising, and business operations. Areas of responsibility include planning and execution, policy development and administration, personnel and fiscal management, and public relations. This is a full-time position, hired by and directly accountable to the NYSAWWA Board of Directors through its elected chairperson.

 

Qualifications/Characteristics:

  • Experience in non-profit management and/or thorough knowledge of water industry
  • Desire to work with volunteers in an association led by volunteers and supported by staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and QuickBooks
  • Ability to manage staff (2 full time additional staff)
  • Willingness to travel
