About New York Section AWWA

Protecting the public health by providing clean, quality tap water.

 

The New York Section of the American Water Works Association is the state's largest organization dedicated to plentiful, high-quality drinking water. We provide professional development and training, technical resources, and advocacy for the Section’s more than 2,000 members -- water treatment plant operators, distributors, consulting engineers, contractors, students, and government officials.

The Section's Water Utility Council and the natinal AWWA Government Affairs office in Washington, DC conduct legislative and regulatory reviews and regularly update NYSAWWA members on state and national actions that impact water quality and how service is provided to the public.

Networking: The Section's trainings and conferences provide members with opportunities to share information and discuss solutions to common problems. Newcomers to the water community havea a chance to learn from more experienced members as well as each other.
