NYSAWWA Committees

Volunteering for one of the Section's work committees can be enormously satisfying, both personally and professionally. From developing the technical content for education and training programs to planning fundraisers for Water for People, there's sure to be something to interest you.

Below is a list of the Section's committees and a brief description of the duties.

 

100th Anniversary Ad Hoc Committee

The 100th Anniversary Committee’s primary goal is to host a noteworthy 100th Anniversary event that celebrates the history and future of the New York Section.  Our 100th Anniversary event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Rochester and the Rochester Convention Center from May 13-15, 2014.  Our committee is currently fundraising and planning this historic event.  More committee members are always welcome, especially as we get closer to 2014!

 

Awards and Recognitions

Oversee nominations/applications for AWWA and Section Awards, including student scholarships.

Education

Determine courses to be offered for Section regional training, including small system issues and incorporate all other issues current to the industry, including: surface and groundwater programs, customer service, research, and security ; arrange for instructors and sites.

Sustainability Ad Hoc Committee

Works to ensure a sustainable water future for New York State and promote a culture of sustainability at water utilities throughout the state. 

 

Water for People

Coordinate fundraising events on behalf of the Section, including annual golf outing and local events through regional chapters/committees.
