Brian Steenburn of the Village of Bloomfield beat out three other operators to win the Section’s 2011 Meter Madness competition. Brian heads to AWWA’s ACE in Washington, DC in June to take on winners from other sections. The Westbury Water District can now boast that it has New York’s best tasting drinking water after judges gave the Nassau County village a combined score of 110 for taste, smell, clarity, color, odor, and aftertaste. Dix Hills Water District, the village of Corfu water, and the city of Kingston Water District followed closely with scores of 105, 102, and 100, respectively.
