Awards for service

George Warren Fuller Award

The George Warren Fuller Award is presented annually to one member of each AWWA Section, based on recommendations from the Sections, for distinguished service in the water supply field and in commemoration of the sound engineering skill, the brilliant diplomatic talent, and the constructive leadership talent which characterized the life of George Warren Fuller.

John M. Diven Award

John M. (Jack) Diven, Jr. joined AWWA in 1913 and became well known to most New York Section members through his active participation in Section activities until his death in 1978 at the age of 88. Jack served as Section Chair from 1959-1960, and during the 10 years prior to his death, he was Chair of the Historical and Landmarks Committee. He was responsible for the New York Section's receiving many landmark designations. Jack received numerous honors in the water works industry and was held in such esteem by the New York Section that the John M. Diven, Jr. Award was established in his honor.

The award is presented annually to the New York Section member who — in the tradition of Jack Diven — has completed outstanding services for the New York Section.
